I can't drink as much as I used to
and that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

And quotes work too
Re: I can't drink as much as I used to
I can - but I'm afraid it bites me a bit harder than it used to.
I always think of the line from the English version of "The Pilgrims' Chorus" from "Nabucco" - "We have drunk from the cup of affliction, and have shed bitter tears of repentance".

I gave up coffee for Lent - last year, and was desperate for a cup by Easter, but ever since I have found that I just can't drink it like I used to. Not that it gives me the shakes or anything - it just makes me feel sick if I have more than one cup.
It is amazing how 'conditioned' our bodies become to things we regularly consume.

I can, but what I can't do any more is mix things - red wine should never be followed by cider is my recommendation......

I definitely can't.
I have cut down dramatically - no alcohol in the week at all and none during the day at weekends. That means that after 2 glasses on a Friday night I am asleep in front of GBM with spit on my chin.

After our recent trip with the family to the island in the Bahamas where they were born, I can assure everyone that we can both keep up with the younger generation and appear first to make breakfast next day!
Possibly not something to boast about, but we had a fab time.
I would post pictures but they have to be transferred to my computer - perhaps just as well!

Although in my "favourite drink" my jokey answer makes it seem as if I drink a lot, I drink far less then I used to. Living on my own I find a bottle of wine will last a week (using a vacuvin stopper - which is a wonderful invention). Must admit I tend to drink more (red wine) when entertaining, but find I can't drink as much any more either.
