Killed hypericum?

Postby jeral » Tue May 15, 2012 7:42 pm

The so-called gardeners have strimmed these shrubs back to bare stalks just today. Will they survive? The shrubs that is as I could happily choke the so-called gardeners.

Should be ok. This is the best time to prune them. Check out RHS site. Gives lots of info.

Update: Good news: the "dead" brown stalks are sprouting growth. Happy now :)

A year later, I'm delighted that there are lots of buds on the hypericum :) And, even better is that they should stay there for at least a month and hopefully bloom until the gardeners next come wielding the dreaded hedge trimmers since I played tree-hugger yesterday and saved the buds; unfortunately too late for one they'd got to already, but this one's safe for now :thumbsup
