Re: masterchef canada
Hi. I usually get international Masterchefs a few years behind so meet you back same time in 2017?
The production company clearly has a very successful, saleable format - and how! it seems from the number of countries shown. I wonder how many others there are. Things like "Who wants to be a millionaire" (120 countries) and "The Weakest Link" formats were sold worldwide; can't think of any other cookery shows though...

Just caught up on this thread. You make a very kind offer mark111757 - I thank you *bows*
However, it could take me until 2017 to find time to watch various programmes I've already stored so I'll decline with thanks. Hope you are enjoying the series as it's progressing.

Re: masterchef canada
been enjoying the series so far....no major spoilers here tho, sorry!!
last week the cooks did mass catering at Canadian Forces Base Trenton (i am presuming in the province of Ontario) and as i watched all i could think of was Major Harry Lomas of Combat CHefs (which I very much enjoyed. i thought it was a great series from channel 5) and the idea of doing mass catering for troops...and by the way, does anyone know what Harry is up to these days?????
this week, there was an elimination challenge and the cooks needed to give 5 star treatment to a classic canadian desert and the choices started out with
butter tarts http://crepesofwrath.net/2013/08/01/buttertarts/
nanaimo bars http://www.nanaimo.ca/EN/main/visitors/NanaimoBars.html
blueberry grunt http://allrecipes.com/recipe/cape-breto ... rry-grunt/
http://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/ ... unt-recipe
http://www.selectnovascotia.ca/recipes/blueberry-grunt
so they ended up doing upscale version of the nanaimo bars
