Re: Your least favourite foods
Always surprised by people's differences in tastes. Some of the hated items so far feature in my favourite meals.
Meat: Jugged hare.
Offal: Childhood aversion: Liver. Adult: I am reminded of a plateful of innards, mostly intestines, I was served in Thailand. Andouillettes don't even register as food with me, any more than eyeballs or testicles.
Fish: Childhood aversion: rock salmon which I haven't overcome, but thinking about it makes me fancy cod and chips for supper. I know what you mean about mud, Stokey.
Shellfish: Childhood aversion to all. Gradually weaning myself onto them, but whelk is still a no-go area.
Fruit: Don't hate anything, but starfruit seems pretty pointlessly tasteless. Durian was odd, but like smelly cheese I could probably eventually appreciate it.
Vegetable: Childhood aversion to sprouts after I found half a caterpillar in one and was made to finish the sprout. Hated marrow, still do. Adult aversion: Bitter melon.
Dairy: Childhood: There was only cheddar when I was growing up. Adult: Have not tried Casu Marzu, but I think that cheese that moves has to be bottom of the list.

Sakkers
As far as casu marzu, the last I knew Tom parker-bowles is still with us. He had some, either series 1 or 2 of the F word. I thought he survived.
Joan
Roast turkey, a fav anytime........tho I prefer fresh over frozen. Something about the texture and moisture of the meat.

I'm not a huge fan of turkey but as least favourite poultry I'd have to go for the poussin, pointless little things, no flesh, no flavour

Re: Your least favourite foods
Good thread Joan ..
Poultry: Turkey in any form ..
Vegan: Tofu or soy in any form ..
Dairy: Industrialised milk and orange or red rinded cheeses and I detest buttermilk and sourcream .. ( No dislike for Creme Fraîche ) ..
Snacks: Anything industrialised and specifically flavored potato chips or "Crisps" .. Prefer the original Lay´s ..
Meats: Well done beef, filet mignon or steak or prime rib etcetra .. Not a grand fan of lamb either ..
Fish / Shellfish: Delicate white fish like filet of sole or halibut ( these are non existent in Iberian waters ) .. I am veered towards being Pescatarian and love shellfish but I detest mackeral with a passion too ..
Foreign Cuisine: I am not a grand fan of Chinese and Mexican .. ( I do enjoy Dim Sim and I prefer the Mexican cuisine of The East Coast for example, the La Vera coast to the interior and dislike Tex Mex ) ..
Vegetables: Brussel sprouts.
Fruits: Avocado and kiwi ..
Dressings or sauces: Cream sauces and ketchup ..
Grains: Breakfast Cereals - Industialised .. and oatmeal and wheatina etcetra .. Gross ..

Re: Your least favourite foods
The best poussins I have tasted were made following a 1970's recipe which called for them to be halved grilled then finished with a topping of Marsala mixed with whipped cream and grated , glazed under the grill. They were lovely.
I didn't at all care for the mallard duck I was once served - fish flavoured poultry did not float my boat.

Re: Your least favourite foods
How could I forget BRAINS?
I can't see myself ever being brave enough.
That was prompted by watching an Australian programme, "Chef's Line", where the chef was preparing a tripe dish, and said "the demographic for tripe here has traditionally been 50 to 70 years old...", which I can sort of understand, as it is soft food, perfect if your teeth are not quite what they used to be. That made me think of brains, as they are (I presume) even softer.
As a matter of interest, I wonder if anyone has encountered UK restaurants that have picked up on the St John nose-to-tail idea, but at ordinary people prices. Maybe with a tasting menu - tackle all the offal phobias in one go?
EDIT: Yuk! Brainburger!
