Morrisons British Pork Shoulder reduced to £2.43 per kg.

Pork shoulder has so much more flavour than leg. I used to like Jamie's recipe where it is cooked on top of sliced fennel.

Thanks for the link Renée, but I'm puzzled it should give different readings per 100g to that for 100ml. Peanut butter by liquid? :?:

Best homemade so that it can be as crunchy as you like and I'm sure cheaper. :thumbsup

Ice cream is often sold / handled by liquid measure, and 100 ml of ice cream must I suppose weigh less than 100 g (due to the amount of air whipped in)
After all - the ice cream in a coke float does actually float!

In Morrison's
Lovely trimmed leeks, 57p for a packet of 4
28p for a sweetheart cabbage
28 p for a kg of nice small onions (Red Tractor)

One to watch out for in Morrison's - they sell colour matched roses for a fiver, but the assorted ones (often with slightly wonky stems, I assume they are rejects from the single colour packs) are £2 They last just as long, and if anything I prefer them

God I love a coke float, Sue!

Not a bargain as such, but I got some ready trimmed carrots and shredded cabbage from Tescos.
I just couldn't be bothered to chop.

And they tasted fantastic. My husband said their fruit is the best of the bunch at the moment too.

So Tescos shopping it is for the moment!

Ready-shredded is the way to go for me too, occasionally, Gill. I buy ready-shredded kale for my Nutri-Blitzer.

I can't even work out what that is, Petronius?

Renee, have you tried a banana and spinach one? Absolutely lovely.

I seldom buy shredded or trimmed veg just because it doesn't keep so well, apart occasionally for stir fry mix

However, yesterday I noticed that Whole Foods Market had pots of spiralized veg for sale - not a bargain at £1.99 but I might try one to see if I like the effect in certain dishes, still cheaper than in investing in a spiralizer!

No, I haven't yet, Gill, but I do have bananas and spinach in the fridge. This morning, before the gym, I had yoghurt, banana, satsuma, a dollop of peanut butter and added water up to the level. Yummy!

I made an ice-cream soda for GD and she didn't like it! Kids today, eh?

When we went into Asda today, the 2.5kg packs of white potatoes were being sold for the princely sum of 29p. We initially thought it was a misprint but when we got to the checkout and the cashier scanned them, the price was still the same. They aren't very big and have thin skins so can be used in place of new potatoes. We had some tonight adnthey were very nice. I feel some hassleback spuds coming on for Easter Sunday!

I get confused as well Puss-in-boots.

I'm sure the duck tasted better because it was half price.

Our Farmers' Market has a fresh fish van often selling two dabs for anything from £2.50 to £5. He fillets them and we get extra for the freezer. Thus after the indulgence of Friday's duck and today's Turkey, last night was a couple of fillets each, plus a potato sliced for oven baked sauté and a few peas. Simples!

Plenty of hot cross bun bargains in Waitrose this morning – pack of four, 98p.

Puss-in-boots, rather than fill the Bargain thread with confusion I've commented on Chatterbox.
