I agree. This board looks just terrific to me - I find it much easier than some to find my way about.
But if possible, it would be nice to be able to reply to a specific post, so we can all see 'which angle' we are coming from.
But altogether I LOVE IT!!!!!

HungryHousewife - to do this reply, I clicked the "Quote" button on the far right of your post, which brought up a reply screen and includes your original message - is this similar to what you had in mind?
Dover Soul, not sure what you meant if it's not the above, can you point me to a forum that does what you are suggesting?

The BBC board Sakkarin, it has a "reply to this post button" when then brings up the "this is a reply to whichever post" at the top of your reply without having to quote from the message.
But I can now see the quote button you have mentioned to HH which quotes the whole message you want to reply to. It can get a bit longwinded when there are long posts and lots of quotes but not a great problem.

Never mind, at least we'll have fun. And since different boards develop different personalities even if some of the members are the same we shall have variety.
Re: Is there room for yet another food forum?
There is always room for another food forum - you pays your money you takes your chances as to where you fit in I guess. Food is what linked us all together in the first place and if that's what happens here then I don't see how it can be a bad thing.
As with joining any new forum - just takes time to get to know the layout, the look and the fact that it's "different" to what you're used to.
Long may it continue xx

Hello back to you, AZ.
Hi Dover Soul.
I think we're just going to have to get used to using our names if we reply to a specific person on a thread.

morning Gill (no exclamationmark)
I agree,I think it normal (though what is normal) board etiquette, to answer to a specific person with their name, if it is just a general question, querie, reply then no name and it is a free for all!
That you have asked a specific person does not of course mean that the rest of the board cannot jump in. (with both feet), this is in the public domain and so you are in reality asking the whole world. If you want to ask just one person and no one else use the PM function.
Cheers
Dick

Thank you GP, the big plus point of this forum for me is its open all hours. I am just testing the image method to see if I can work it out.

I find the easiest way to manage pictures is to right click on the image in Windows Explorer on your pc
or in picasa imageshack and photobucket
choose copy image location
click the IMG icon here
right click paste
picks up a good default size - or it does for my laptop.

Ah- that doesn't work for pictures on your computer. Sorry.
You have to create a smaller copy.

Definitely. My favourites is telling me that I can add on another site, so there must be room.
Thanks Sakkarin for starting this up. Looks like there are a lot of old friends from the Beep in here too.
